Wildcats trim Eagles

RAYMOND Pearl River Community College Wildcats defeated the perennial powerhouse Hinds Eagles for the first time since 2003 with a 2-1 road victory here Tuesday. Freshman Garrett Head of Oak Grove High scored goals in both halves to propel PRCC to the victory. Head first goal came midway in the opening half, but HCC James Cockrell tied it up minutes later and that 1-1 stalemate held true at the intermission. Head scored the game-winning goal off an assist by Pacer Frierson of Picayune High with 6:30 left in the game. Pearl River returns to action Tuesday when East Central visits (5 p.m. women, 7 p.m. men) before opening its MACJC South Division schedule at home against rival Copiah-Lincoln Friday, Sept. 9 (1 p.m. women, 3 p.m. men).

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
