Tennessee Tech signs Abraham

POPLARVILLE Pearl River Community College center fielder James Abraham has signed on with the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles for the 2012 season. Abraham, who transferred to PRCC from Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond after prepping at St. Stanislaus in Bay St. Louis, finished his sophomore campaign with the Wildcats with an impressive .319 batting average, a .455 on-base percentage (second best on the squad), a .438 slugging percentage. Abraham shined on the defensive side, boasting a .974 fielding percentage (he committed only two errors all the Wildcats 49 games played in 2011). He led the Wildcats with 20 stolen bases on 24 attempts and drove in a third-best 30 runs. Abraham finished the year with a team-high nine doubles, along with four triples. Pearl River earned a berth in the MACJC post-season playoffs, but were defeated by Holmes CC in a best-of-three playoff series for a berth in the state tournament. The Wildcats finished the year with a 28-21 overall record. TTU, which is located in Cookeville, Tenn.; is coached by Matt Bragga and competes in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.
