River dominates Co-Lin

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College bombarded Copiah-Lincoln with a pair of lopsided MACJC South Division women''s and men''s soccer victories here Wednesday with the Lady Wildcats taking a 7-1 victory and the Wildcats shutting out the Wolves 5-0.PRCC''s women improved to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in division play, while its men are now 6-1 and 2-0. Co-Lin''s women dropped to 1-4 and 0-3, while its men fell to 0-6 and 0-3.In the women''s game, Pearl River burst to a 5-0 lead at the intermission behind three-goal and two-goal efforts by Heather Smith of Oak Grove High and Santana Adams of Hurley (East Central High), respectively, then Brittany Albe of Bay St. Louis (Guam High) and Jordan Organ of Forrest County AHS added solo scores in the second half.Elizabeth Cudjoe scored the Lady Wolves'' only goal in the second half.In the men''s game, the Wildcats led 4-0 at the half off a pair of goals by Tyler Szura of Forrest County AHS and solo scores by Yosef Amador of Picayune High and Austin Slade of of Poplarville; while Curtis Sangbarani of Aberdeen, Scotland, kicked in the final goal of the game in the second half.Pearl River returns to MACJC South Division action Saturday when arch-rival Mississippi Gulf Coast visits for 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men) games, then it''s a road trip to non-division foe Itawamba in Fulton Friday, Oct. 1, for 2 p.m. (women) and 4 p.m. (men) contests with the Indians. PRCC resumes division action Saturday, Oct. 2, with a road game against Southwest Mississippi in Summit. Game times are 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men).

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
