POPLARVILLE – The Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation again will be the grand sponsor for Pearl River Community College Women Health Symposium. The foundation approved a grant of $15,000 for the symposium, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, on the Poplarville campus.LPRVF is pleased to respond to the request for support for the 2012 Women Health Symposium at Pearl River Community College, said Dr. Ted Alexander, the foundation chief executive officer. It is particularly pertinent for women in our service area to have the opportunity to receive the information and screenings that will be available at the symposium. The health concerns of our constituents are right in_line with the foundation mission statement. The symposium features a health fair, including free screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure, along with speakers addressing a variety of women health issues. As a major sponsor for the PRCC Women Health Symposium, the Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation has assisted us in bringing health-related program activities to this area of the state, said Dr. Becky Askew, PRCC vice president for planning and institutional research and chair of the symposium steering committee. We are certainly very appreciative of their continued support.Registration materials for the symposium will be available around the first of the year.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
