PRCC offering Waveland shipfitting course

Pearl River Community College will offer shipfitting at the Hancock Center in Waveland  this summer, beginning May 19.
Applications, including the $250 course fee, are due by the first day of class.

Students will receive an Industry Recognized Certificate in Pipefitting and Application for NCCER Certification in: Core curriculum (Introductory Craft Skills), Level 1 and 2 Pipefitting and a 10-hour OSHA card.

Students must provide their own protective gear: #10 welding shield, welding gloves and hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs and long-sleeve shirt. 

Students also must obtain a drug screening at their own expense.

Classes will meet from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday through July 21.

Applications can be obtained at the Hancock Center or at the welding shop at the Hancock Center. Applications and fees must be submitted to PRCC on the first day or class.

The Hancock Center is located at 454 Highway 90, Ste. D, in Waveland.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
