PRCC dental hygiene students earn pins, diplomas

HATTIESBURG – Sixteen graduates of the dental hygiene program at Pearl River Community College”s Forrest County Center received pins Wednesday, May 12, in a ceremony marking the end of their two years of study.Tiffany Derouen of Bay St. Louis was named Outstanding Dental Hygiene Student. Erika Garza of Lucedale received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award. Kayla Jackson of Carson was named Colgate Star Student.The PRCC Patient Education Award went to Ashley Morgan of Poplarville. The Mississippi Dental Hygienists” Association Achievement Award went to Lacey Thatcher of Lumberton, and Jessica Stuart of Sumrall received the Mississippi Dental Association Achievement Award.Garza, Anne Jones of Hattiesburg and Lacie Wright of D”Iberville were named to the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society.Other graduates are Heather Burchfield of Hattiesburg, Summer Cuevas of Kiln, Jessica Fabra of Poplarville, Dusty Jones of Taylorsville, Christy Magee of Collins, Taylor Mapp of Hattiesburg, Chelsey Neal of Carriere and Felicia Ross of Kiln.Instructors are Michele Giles and Donna Lunn, Registered Dental Hygienists; Emy Addison, Certified Dental Assistant; Dr. Shanalyn Allen, DMD, and Dr. Stan Hill, DMD and program director.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
