Naquin, Friday named Mr. and Miss PRCC

POPLARVILLE – Students at Pearl River Community College elected Adam Naquin III of Poplarville and Sarah Friday of St. Martin as Mr. and Miss PRCC for 2012.Class favorites on the Poplarville campus are Antoine Armstrong of Pascagoula and Ashlee Arnau of Oak Grove, sophomores; and Justin Keys of Hattiesburg and Sirri Seats of Picayune, freshmen.Forrest County Center sophomore class favorites are Chelsee Johnson of Petal and Dustin Wactor of Carriere. Freshman class favorites are Kevin Grzenia of Oak Grove and Jonna McGlaughn of Brookhaven.Hancock Center favorites are Jarrett Lee of Lakeshore and Jamie Thompson of Diamondhead, sophomores; Casey Butler and Amanda Leigh Fouasnon, both of Bay St. Louis, freshmen.Naquin, 20, is the son of Monica Choate and Adam Naquin Jr. of Poplarville. A graduate of Poplarville High School, he is sophomore class president, a participant in Man Up Bible study, football manager and a student employee of the PRCC Development Foundation. He is a criminal justice major and plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and eventually work at the federal level.Friday, 19, is the daughter of Cheryl Friday of St. Martin. She is a graduate of St. Martin High School and is taking general studies classes. She is Student Government Association secretary, co-captain of the String of Pearls dance team, a member of the Baptist Student Union and was the 2011 homecoming queen. She will enroll in the PRCC dental hygiene program at the Forrest County Center next year.Armstrong, 19, is the son of Ollie Armstrong and Leray Armstrong, both of Pascagoula and graduated from Pascagoula High School. Armstrong plays on the PRCC soccer team and hopes to transfer to Spring Hill College in Mobile to continue his soccer career and to major in nursing.Arnau, 20, is the daughter of Rocky and Trish Arnau of Oak Grove and a graduate of Oak Grove High School. She plays on the Lady Wildcat soccer team, is the SGA vice president, has been a PRCC cheerleader and was a freshman maid in the 2010 homecoming court. She has signed a soccer scholarship with William Carey University and plans to attend medical school to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology.Keys, 18, is the son of Marty and Natalie Keys of Hattiesburg and a graduate of Hattiesburg High School. He is freshman class president, plays trumpet in the Spirit of the River band, is stage manager for the spring musical and a residence hall assistant. He is majoring in international business and marketing and plans to attend USM after graduating from PRCC.Seats is the 18-year-old daughter of Angela and Michael Morrell Sr. of Picayune and a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School. She is a member of the Spirit of the River color guard and is a student employee of the PRCC Office of Financial Aid. She plans to transfer to USM after completing PRCC to pursue a physical therapy career.Forrest County CenterJohnson, 21, is the daughter of Shelby and Tammie Johnson of Petal and a graduate of Leesville High School in Leesville, La. She is a member of the PRCC Honors Institute, sophomore class president, vice president of the Beta Tau Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and of the Science Club and a member of Sigma Kappa Delta English honor society. She plans to continue her education at USM with the goal of getting a PhD in microbiology and inventing a teleportation device.Wactor is the 20-year-old son of Terry and Stacy Wactor of Carriere. He graduated from Pearl River Central High School and is a music education major. He is sophomore class vice president and plans to transfer to USM to pursue his degree.Grzenia, 22, is the son of Kris Grzenia and Lillian Starr, both of Chicago. A graduate of Grayslake North High School near Chicago, he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta, the Forrest County Center History and Humanities Club and a student tutor in math, English and history. He plans to transfer to Texas A&M with the goal of earning a PhD in physical applied mathematics.McGlaughn, 18, is the daughter of Russel and Katie McGlaughn of Brookhaven. A graduate of Franklin County High School, she is an English major, SGA secretary-treasurer and a member of Sigma Kappa Delta and Phi Theta Kappa. She plans to earn an English degree from USM and become an editor.Hancock CenterLee, 20, is the son of Darren Lee of Lakeshore and Terri Lee of Metairie, La. A graduate of Hancock High School, he is a general studies major and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He plans to transfer to USM to earn a bachelor degree in chemistry and then attend dental school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.The 19-year-old daughter of Jason and Deanna Thompson of Diamondhead, Thompson is also a graduate of Hancock High School and a general studies major. She is a member of the 2012 Hancock Center Scholars Bowl Team and Phi Theta Kappa. She intends to transfer to USM to major in math, physics or computer science and work towards a master degree.Butler, 19, is the daughter of Robert Butler of Bay St. Louis and Charlene Thomas of Bentonville, Ark. He attended St. Stanislaus and was homeschooled. Butler is also a member of the Scholars Bowl Team and plans to attend USM to major in science.Fouasnon is the 19-year-old daughter of Michael and Suzanne Fouasnon of Waveland. She is a graduate of Hancock High and a member of the Scholars Bowl Team. A biology major, she plans to attend USM before going to medical school to become a dermatologist.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
