Mr. and Miss PRCC, Class Favorites elected

  POPLARVILLE - Desmond Edmonson of Quitman and Heather Boutwell of Hattiesburg have been named Mr. and Miss PRCC for 2013-14 by fellow students at Pearl River Community College.
  Sophomore class favorites are Breanna Peters of Brandon and Glenn Doucet II of Gulfport on the Poplarville campus; Sonya Conerly and Stephen Perry, both of Hattiesburg, at the Forrest County Center; and Kadijah Johnson and Tim Brister Jr., both of Bay St. Louis, at the Hancock Center.
  Freshman class favorites are Angela Larke Bickham of Poplarville and Jerrod Newson of Columbia on the Poplarville campus; Jelea Marie Williams and Freddie R. Smith, both of Hattiesburg, at the Forrest County Center; Wendy Scelson of Bay St. Louis and Quoc Nguyen of Pass Christian at the Hancock Center.
  All will be featured in The Wildcat digital yearbook.               
  Edmonson, a graduate of Hattiesburg High School, is the son of Cleveland Edmonson and Annabel Lombay of Quitman. A 20-year-old psychology major, he is a drum major for the Spirit of the River marching band and executive secretary of the Student Government Association. He plans to attend Mississippi State University.
  Boutwell, 20, is the daughter of Debbie and Wendell Boutwell. She is a graduate of Oak Grove High School, plays on the Lady Wildcat softball team and is vice president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plans to transfer to the physical therapy assistant program at the Forrest County Center.
  Peters, 19, is the daughter of Sherita Peters and Brian Crumb of Brandon. A graduate of Northwest Rankin High School, she is a member of the String of Pearls dance team and is executive president of the SGA. She plans to attend Mississippi State University to major in kinesiotherapy.
  Doucet is the son of Galen and Penny Doucet of Gulfport and a graduate of Gulfport High School. The 21-year-old is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and plays intramural softball. He plans to earn a business degree at the University of Southern Mississippi.
  Bickham, 18, is the daughter of Lorrie and Keith Bickham of Poplarville and a graduate of Poplarville High School. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a student trainer for the football and baseball teams. She plans to transfer to the University of South Alabama to earn a physical therapy degree.
  Newson is the son of Bridget Newsom and Lewis Odom of Columbia. A graduate of East Marion High School, he is freshman class secretary. He plans to work offshore or in the rodeo field.

Forrest County Center

  Conerly, 20, is the daughter of Perry and Sheryl Conerly of Hattiesburg and a graduate of Forrest County Agricultural High School. She is a member of the Honors Institute, Phi Theta Kappa, History and Humanities Club and Sigma Kappa Delta and is a peer mentor. She plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing from a university.
  Perry is the 23-year-old son of Carmen and Gary Perry of Hattiesburg. A graduate of Forrest County Agricultural High School, he is a member of the Honors Institute and Phi Theta Kappa. He plans to transfer to Mississippi State University to study aerospace engineering.
  Williams, 18, is the daughter of the late Donna Williams and the granddaughter of Janice Williams. She is a graduate of Hattiesburg High School and plans to attend the University of Mississippi to become a neurologist. She is freshman class vice president, a member of the Honors Institute and Phi Theta Kappa and was elected to the 2013 homecoming court.
  Smith, 53, is a graduate of Hattiesburg High School and a business office technology major. He plans to pursue a career in office management or to own a small restaurant.

Hancock Center

  Johnson, 19, is the daughter of Catherine Johnson and Gary Dorsey of Bay St. Louis. She is a graduate of Bay High School and a member of the Student Government Association. She is a nursing major with the goal of becoming a nurse practitioner.
  Brister, 21, is the son of Tim Brister Sr. and Candy Brister of Bay St. Louis. He is a graduate of Hancock High School and plans to transfer to Mississippi State University to earn a chemical engineering degree.
  Scelson is the 18-year-old daughter of Elma Lou Ladner of Bay St. Louis and Robert Scelson. She is a graduate of Bay High School. She plans transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to study computer science with the goal of working for NASA.
  Nguyen is the son of Bai Cao and Thanh Nguyen of Pass Christian. A graduate of Bay High School, he plans to become a physician.
