Masonry helper class begins Sept. 15

  POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College is offering a masonry tender/helper course at night during the fall semester.
  The class will meet from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 15 and ending Dec. 15. The course will be taught in the masonry shop on the Poplarville campus (Career Education Building).
  Cost is $150 and tuition assistance is available for those who qualify. The class will offer a masonry tender/helper certificate, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER credentials in introduction to masonry, masonry tools, equipment and safety.
  Students must be 18 years old before the class starts. Those interested must complete an application, provide a clean drug screen at their expense and a receipt from the business office for payment in full.   Applications can be obtained by calling Cheryl Frierson at 601 403-1113 or Sheila Smith at 601 403-1241.
  Applications must be turned in along with the drug screen results and the receipt to Smith at the Career Education Building. Those accepted will need to provide steel-toed boots and safety glasses.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
