Court selected for PRCC Homecoming

POPLARVILLE - A sophomore from St. Martin has been elected 2011 Homecoming Queen at Pearl River Community College.Sarah Grace Friday will be crowned during pre-game ceremonies at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, before the PRCC Wildcats host the East Mississippi Community College Lions.Other members of the 2011 Homecoming Court are Student Body Maid Courtney Elizabeth Lee of Ovett, sophomore maids Danielle Marie Rogers of Petal and Olivia Christie Ryals of Columbia, freshman maids Emily Marisha Brooke Patton and Tkia Andranette Smith, both of Hattiesburg; Forrest County Center sophomore maid Einnor Drawde` Rankins of Petal, Forrest County Center freshman maid Hannah Julia Faith Herring of Petal and Hancock Center maid Austa Ann Chasez of Waveland.Friday is the daughter of Cheryl Friday of St. Martin. She is vice president of the PRCC sophomore class, co-captain of the String of Pearls dance squad and a member of the Baptist Student Union. She plans to major in dental hygiene.Lee is the daughter of Susan and J.D. Hendry of Ovett and Chuck and Lilli Lee of Crystal Springs. A member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, she is a Student Government Association representative and was a cheerleader in 2010. She plans to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.The daughter of Martin and Mary Rogers of Petal, Rogers is a music major. She is section leader of the Spirit of the River pit, plays flute in the Symphonic Band and sings in the PRCC Singers choir, The Voices ensemble and RiverRoad showchoir. She is also a BSU missionary.Ryals is the daughter of Johnny and Laura Ryals of Columbia. A Dean List scholar, she is PTK vice president of fellowship and a member of the River Navigators recruitment team. She plans to major in occupational therapy.The daughter of Rachael and Tim Grant of Hattiesburg, Patton is the 2011 PRCC Wildcat mascot and a member of River Navigators and the BSU. She plans to major in family and consumer science.Smith is the daughter of Audrey and Herman Smith of Hattiesburg. A psychology major, she is freshman class secretary and a member of the BSU.Rankins is the daughter of Ronnie Rankins of Beaumont and Kristi Rankins of Carthage. A biological science major, she is a member of PTK, the Forrest County Center Science Club and the Forrest County Center SGA. She is a Dean List scholar and a student calculus tutor.The daughter of Amy and Wayne McCardle of Petal, Herring is the Forrest County Center freshman class vice president and a member of the BSU. She plans to major in physical therapy.A sophomore, Chasez is the daugher of Fredrick Chasez Jr. and Kelly Powell, both of Waveland. She was the 2010 Hancock Center homecoming maid and 2011 Hancock Center freshman class favorite. She plans to major in phsyical therapy.
