Wildcats roll over Delgado for season’s second win

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College cruised to a relatively-easy victory over Delgado Saturday at New Orleans, defeating the Dolphins 90-72.

The Wildcats (2-0) were led by freshman Eric Thornton Jr. (Jackson), who had a game-high 27 points, and also added 7 rebounds.

Sophomore Brandon Cranford (Louisville, Ky.) had 13 points off the bench, sophomore Ray Anderson (New Orleans) had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and freshman Jonas James III (Jackson) added 10 points for the Wildcats.

PRCC had a good night from the field, converting 35 of 66 shots (53.0 percent), and also had a 51-38 rebounding advantage. Pearl River led 46-34 at halftime.

The Wildcats will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against Louisiana Christian at M.R. White Coliseum.
