PERKINSTON --- Pearl River split with host Mississippi Gulf Coast here Wednesday in MACJC South Division softball action, winning a hard-fought 2-1 decision over the 12th-ranked Lady Bulldogs in the first game before falling 1-0 in the nightcap.
POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats swept rival Meridian in an MACJC South Division softball doubleheader here Wednesday and strengthened their hold on fourth place in the division derby.
RAYMOND --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats swept rival Hinds in an MACJC South Division doubleheader softball sweep here Monday, taking a 5-3 victory in nine innings in the opening contest before nabbing an 8-3 win in the nightcap.
Game officials ended the second game after six innings due to darkness.
MCCOMB --- Pearl River Community College snapped its eight-game losing streak with a MACJC South Division doubleheader softball sweep over Southwest Mississippi here Friday on the McComb High School campus.
POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College suffered its fourth straight doubleheader sweep here Wednesday, falling to rival East Central 1-0 (eight innings) and 8-0 (six innings) in MACJC South Division softball action.
With the setbacks, the home-standing Lady Wildcats dropped to 15-14 overall and 5-9 in division play, while the visiting Lady Warriors improved to 24-6 and 10-4.
WESSON --- The Pearl River Lady Wildcats were swept by Copiah-Lincoln here Monday in MACJC South Division softball action, falling 3-2 in the first game and 6-3 in the nightcap.
With the setbacks, The River dropped to 15-12 overall and 5-7 in division play, while the host Lady Wolfpack improved to 11-9 and 5-7.
ELLISVILLE --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats were swept by No. 1-ranked archrival Jones County here Tuesday in MACJC South Division softball action, falling 5-1 in the first game and 10-1 (five innings) in the nightcap.
With the losses, The River dropped to 15-10 overall and 5-5 in division play, while the home-standing Lady Bobcats, the reigning MACJC champions, remained unbeaten at 18-0 and 8-0.
POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats were swept by archrival Mississippi Gulf Coast here Sunday in MACJC South Division softball action, falling 8-0 (eight innings) in the first game and 5-2 in the nightcap.
The River dropped to 16-8 overall and 5-4 in division play with the losses, while the visiting Lady Bulldogs improved to 23-5 and 3-1.
MERIDIAN --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats split with Meridian CC in MACJC South Division softball action here Friday, falling 8-4 in the first game for their first division loss of the year before rebounding with an 8-5 victory in the nightcap game.
The River is now 16-6 overall and 5-1 in division play, while the host Lady Eagles are 5-11 and 2-2.
