Lady Wildcats clip Southwest 2-1 to remain undefeated

Pearl River Community College got a fierce battle from Southwest Mississippi Tuesday night, but the Lady Wildcats prevailed in a 2-1 victory in South Division women’s soccer action at the PRCC Sports Complex.

The win kept PRCC (4-0-1 overall, 2-0-1 division) undefeated heading into Friday’s showdown against Jones County. Southwest (2-4, 0-3) lost its fourth straight game.

Lady Wildcats manage 1-1 draw with Gulf Coast

Pearl River Community College wasn’t at its best in women’s soccer Tuesday night, but the Lady Wildcats managed to avoid defeat in a 1-1 draw with Mississippi Gulf Coast in a South Division game at Perkinston.

The Lady Wildcats (2-0-1, 1-0-1 in South Division) trailed 1-0 at halftime, but tied it up on Caroline Grafe’s second-half goal, and the two teams played the rest of the second half and two 10-minute overtimes without scoring again.

Lady Wildcats close in on playoff berth with victory at Southwest

Lacey PoldermanPearl River Community College drew closer to another playoff berth in women’s soccer Wednesday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over Southwest at Summit.

The Lady Wildcats improved to 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the South Division. Wednesday’s victory, coupled with Meridian’s 7-1 loss to Jones County on Tuesday, put PRCC one game ahead of the Lady Eagles in the division standings.

PRCC women rout Co-Lin 8-1

Mellie SnyderThe soccer schedule makers were kind to Pearl River Community College, as struggling Copiah-Lincoln paid a visit to the PRCC Sports Complex Friday.

The PRCC women overcame an early deficit and went on to rout Co-Lin 8-1.

The Wildcats were rocked early in their game when they surrendered a goal to the winless Wolves at 14:36.

Lady Wildcats down Meridian 3-1

Pearl River won its third straight game Tuesday night, winning 3-1 on the road in a South Division game at Meridian

The Lady Wildcats (4-1 overall, 3-1 division) built a 2-0 first-half lead on goals by Sarah Walden (Pascagoula) and Lacey Polderman (Picayune). Walden’s goal in the 11th minute was assisted by Polderman, with Rylee Foster (Ocean Springs) assisting on Polderman’s 22nd minute score.
