Jack Byrd - Head Coach

Jack ByrdCoach Jack Byrd Head Women's Soccer Coach will enter his 10th season at the helm of PRCC’s women’s program this fall. He served as assistant coach under then-head coach Josh Hess for two seasons, then took over the head coaching position in 2009. In the previous seven seasons, Byrd has led the Lady Wildcats to four MACJC state championship, including three of the past four seasons.

Byrd is a 1999 graduate of Picayune Memorial High School. Byrd received his Associate of Arts degree from Pearl River Community College and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Ouachita Baptist University in 2003.

Byrd began his coaching career as the athletic director for the Clark County (Ark.) Boys and Girls Club, where he coached the U-17 and U-18 club soccer teams.

In his first season as head coach at PRCC, he guided the Lady Wildcat squad to their second MACJC state championship and was named the MACJC’s Women’s Coach of the Year. In 2011 Byrd led the Lady Wildcats to another South State Championship. In 2012 the Lady Wildcats won the MACJC/Region 23 Tournament title. In 2014, PRCC knocked off previously-undefeated Jones County in the semifinals of the MACJC/Region 23 Tornament en route to the state title. In 2015, Pearl River finished 15-3 overall, winning the South DIvision and the MACJC/Region 23 Tournament titles.

Under his guidance, the Lady Wildcats have cracked the national polls four times, including the end of the 2015 season.
