POPLARVILLE – Seven sophomores brought their careers at Pearl River Community College to an end Saturday when they participated in the MACJC All-Star Soccer Game, held at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.
Playing for the South team in the women’s game were four players from PRCC: goalkeeper Karsen Gildea (Ocean Springs), midfielder Caroline Grafe (Kiln), defender Abbi Henderson (Leakesville) and midfielder Mellie Snyder (Leakesville).
Grafe, who played for Hancock High, had the game-tying goal for the South in the 67th minute of play. The South would get a second goal in the final minutes of play to win 2-1.
On the South men’s squad, the Wildcats had three participants: midfielder Kyle Estess (Laurel), defender Mark Johnson (Bay St. Louis) and defender Spencer Martin (Spring, Texas). The South rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw.
