Lady Wildcats drop tough decision against Hinds

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College hit a dry spell late in the third quarter, and were unable to bounce back, dropping a hard-fought 72-65 decision to Hinds Monday night in South Division women’s basketball action at Utica.

PRCC (12-7 overall) dropped into a three-way tie with Hinds (14-6) and Meridian for fourth place in the South at 5-6 in division.

Sophomore Rah Franklin (New Orleans) led PRCC with 20 points. Sophomore Tyasia Willis (Camden) had another double-double, her fifth of the season, with 16 points and 12 rebounds, and sophomore Charisma Walker (Brandon) added 10 points.

The Lady Wildcats will return to M.R. White Coliseum for their home finale of the season Thursday night against East Central. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the game will be livestreamed on
