Lady ‘Cats demolish Spring Hill with lopsided 61-47 road win

    MOBILE, Ala. --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats demolished the Spring Hill (Ala.) College Lady Badger junior varsity here Monday with a lopsided 61-47 victory to improve to 4-1 on the year.
            Spring Hill’s JV remains winless at 0-5.
            The Lady Badgers never threatened, but trailed 28-18 at the intermission before the Lady Wildcats outscored their hosts 33-29 in the second half to take the 14-point win.

‘Cats can Bears 94-87 on road in overtime

            BATON ROUGE, La. --- Pearl River Community College’s Wildcats remain unbeaten in the young 2014-2015 basketball season after pulling off a 94-87 overtime win over the Baton Rouge (La.) Bears here Thursday.
            PRCC improved to 6-0 on the year, while BRCC dropped to 5-4.
            The host Bears led 45-35 at the intermission, but the Wildcats bounced back with an impressive 49-39 scoring advantage in the second half to knot things at 84-84 at the end of regulation and send things into an overtime period.

Lady Wildcats demolish Spring Hill Lady Badgers

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River’s Lady Wildcats demolished the Spring Hill (Ala.) College Lady Badger junior varsity here Thursday with a extremely lopsided 85-35 victory to improve to 3-1 on the year.
            Spring Hill’s JV remains winless at 0-4.
            It was all Pearl River from the outset, holding Mobile-based unit scoreless for the first six minutes. The Lady Wildcats reached a double-digit advantage (10-0) at the 14:30 mark of the first half before going on a 26-12 run to lead 36-12 --- their largest lead of the half --- at the intermission.

Pearl River splits with Holmes

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College split with Holmes in women’s and men’s MACJC non-division basketball action here Monday with the Lady Wildcats falling 52-50 for their first loss of the season, while the Wildcats remain unbeaten with a hard-fought 63-59 victory.
            PRCC’s women dropped to 2-1 overall, while its men are now 5-0. The visiting Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-1 overall, while the Bulldogs are now 4-2.

River sweeps Delta

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College’s women’s and men’s basketball squads remain unbeaten after sweeping MACJC non-division rival Mississippi Delta here Thursday in M.R. White Coliseum.
            The Lady Wildcats pulled out a hard-fought 60-57 victory to improve to 2-0 overall, while the 4-0 Wildcats rallied late for a 55-52 win and hand the visiting Trojans their first loss of 2014. MDCC’s women dropped to 1-3, while its men are 3-1.

Unbeaten Pearl River wallops William Carey Crusader JV for second time in eight days

            POPLARVILLE --- The unbeaten Pearl River Wildcats demolished the winless William Carey College junior varsity for the second time on eight days here Tuesday in M.R. White Coliseum.
            PRCC’s men, 3-0 overall, picked up a lopsided 84-46 victory after opening the season Nov. 3 with an 81-68 decision in Poplarville. The visiting Crusaders dropped to 0-3.
            It was all Wildcats from the outset, building a 32-point lead --- 46-14 ---in the final minutes of the first half before leading 48-18 at the intermission.

River sweeps Delgado

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College swept Delgado (La.) in women’s and men’s basketball action here Tuesday with the Lady Wildcats taking a 64-50 victory in their season opener, while the Wildcats were 76-55 winners.
            PRCC’s women improved to 1-0 overall, while its men are now 2-0. DCC’s women and men are 0-1.

Wildcats open new White Coliseum with 81-68 win over Carey JV in season opener

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River’s Wildcats opened the new $8.9 million M.R. White Coliseum and their 2014-2015 basketball season in grand fashion here Monday with an impressive 81-68 victory over the William Carey University junior varsity.
            PRCC’s women’s team makes its debut Tuesday when Delgado (La.) visits for 5 p.m. (women) and 7 p.m. (men) games.
