Brief Description of Program: Biomedical Equipment Repair Technology is an instructional and field service program that provides the students with technical knowledge and skills necessary for gaining employment as a biomedical equipment technician. They are entry-level technicians who can install, set up, troubleshoot, integrate, program, test, operate, and repair biomedical equipment.
Essential Requirements of a person in this career field: Pearl River Community College’s Biomedical Equipment Repair Technology Program is designed to accept students who have basic knowledge of science and mathematics. Instruction emphasizes theory, circuits, trouble-shooting, testing, digital principles, design basics, and motor and control devices. During the program of study, students may earn an Certified Electronic Technician (CET) and/or OSHA Certification.
